2021 La Pelle 'Ceniza Vineyard' Cabernet Sauvignon Coombsville
Deep inky in color with explosive aromatics of black currant, dark chocolate, and ripe plums with secondary notes of violets. Embodies classic Coombsville characteristics of mountain herbs and wildflowers. Robust and concentrated with silky tannins throughout the palate. The cooler weather in southeast Napa Valley allows for fresh and savory notes with great density and balanced acidity. A notable vintage, illustrating ability to age brilliantly for 20+ years.

Coming from a site just beside Dr. Crane, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Ceniza Vineyard is clearly the biggest and richest in the lineup, offering gorgeous red and black currants, plums, graphite, ripe tobacco, and gravelly earth-like minerality. It's rich, medium to full-bodied, has ripe tannins, and a gorgeous finish. It needs 2-4 years of bottle age but will keep for 25+ years.
Wine Advocate
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Ceniza Vineyard—from a Coombsville site planted in 1991, dry-farmed and organic—features scents of pea pod, crushed stone and dried herbs softened just a bit by cassis and blueberry fruit. It's medium to full-bodied and firmly tannic, with a long, drying finish. With these tannins and superb concentration, this wine just needs time.
