2020 Bodegas Ego 'Goru 38 Barrels' Red Blend Jumilla
To make bold, ripe, powerful wines, you need sun—and Jumilla delivers. Ego Bodegas has quickly risen to the top in this southeastern Spanish hotspot, crafting rich, concentrated reds from old vines rooted in limestone-studded soils.
Goru 38 Barrels is a standout, a limited-production blend of Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon that’s earned serious acclaim—including 96 points and a Gold Medal from Decanter. Deep and expressive, it overflows with black plum, crushed blackberry, and wild herb aromatics. Licorice, violets, and cocoa add depth, while its plush texture and savory finish showcase impeccable balance. A stunner now, with cellar potential through 2033.
Decanter
Ripe aromas of black cherry and blackcurrant with some dusty cinnamon spice. There is great verve and drive in the mouth with notes of blackcurrant leaves, blackcurrants and dark cherries, soft and round tannins and lively acidity. Beautifully turned out, big, structured and carries its alcohol well.
