2019 Medlock Ames 'Bell Mountain' Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley
Of Bell Mountain Ranch’s 55 acres of vines, 50% are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, a testament to our passion for this grape. Our vineyards are situated in the southeast corner of Alexander Valley at the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountain Range giving us welldrained, gravelly-clay soil with a compacted layer of volcanic ash underneath. This location has the hot Alexander Valley summers combined with cool nights that is just what the Cabernet Sauvignon grape is looking for to maximize sugar, acid and tannin development The 2019 Bell Mountain is filled with aromas of savory herbs, roasted coffee beans and cocoa powder. A classic Cabernet with vibrant acidity and flavors of blueberry shortcake, sweet cherry, and rhubarb pie. The smooth tannins create an elegant leathery textured wine that screams for good food alongside.
James Suckling
Aromas of fresh thyme and sage with blackberries and blackcurrants. Black olives, too. Medium to full body with firm tannins. Pretty now. Drink or hold.
