2019 Gallica 'Oakville Ranch' Cabernet Franc Oakville
From the legendary Oakville Ranch and visionary winemaker Rosemary Cakebread, this Cabernet Franc is a Napa Valley showstopper with Bordeaux-inspired finesse. Deep ruby hues lead to an expressive nose of red and black currants, leafy herbs, scorched earth, and subtle spicy oak. Layers of ripe tannins, supple texture, and hints of iron add complexity, with a medium-to-full body and a finish that lingers effortlessly. Built for the long haul, this wine promises to age gracefully for 20 years, offering an exciting glimpse of Cabernet Franc’s rising star in Napa.

All from the Oakville Ranch Vineyard, the 2019 Cabernet Franc reveals a deep ruby/plum hue to go with a stunning nose of ripe red and black currants, leafy herbs, scorched earth, and background spicy oak. Showing a touch of iron and almost bloodiness with time in the glass, it's medium to full-bodied and has a layered, supple mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It needs a solid 4-5 years of bottle age, but I suspect it will evolve gracefully for two decades.
