2018 Jean-Max Roger 'Cuvee Genese' Sancerre Rouge
A stunning Pinot Noir from the historic village of Bué, this Sancerre Rouge showcases the terroir’s famed flint and limestone soils, Caillottes and Terres Blanches. Organically farmed and fermented with natural yeast, it exudes purity and finesse.
Expect vibrant notes of red cherries, raspberries, and wild strawberries, laced with subtle earthy undertones and flinty minerality, all balanced by fine tannins and a silky texture.
Crafted by the Roger family, winemakers since the 17th century, this is a classic expression of Sancerre Rouge, perfect for lovers of elegant, terroir-driven Pinot Noir.
Tasting Panel
This Pinot Noir from the Loire and organically farmed vines. Fermented in stainless and used wood and aged in large barrels for up to 12 months. This earthy, pure red-berry-driven wine has plenty of verve, energy, and tension with sandalwood accents and dried wildflowers. Medium-bodied with assertive, firm tannins and a spine of zippy acidity. It is a steal for the money, considering the price of equally vivacious Burgundy wines.
