2017 Scarzello Barolo del Comune di Barolo

Aromas of dried roses, tar, and leather. On the palate, layers of ripe red fruit, licorice, earthy undertones, firm tannins, and bright acidity, with a complex structure and lingering finish. Scarzello's approach to Barolo production with more traditional, larger format oak in their élevage results in a leaner, brighter, and more food-friendly body weight. In time, the youthful tannins will soften and give way to a silkier palate profile.
