2006 Veuve Clicquot Brut La Grande Dame Rose
"Honestly, I have never tasted better Champagnes from Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin than I did in March 2016. The cuvées were as fresh as they were complex, and I left the company with a sense of wonder." – The Wine Advocate
With the approach of the holidays, and in the interest of quotidian self-care, we'd like to propose a nice deal on Veuve Clicquot's top cuvée from 2006, which now has 10 years in the bottle!
Veuve Clicquot teamed up with Swedish artist and gifted watercolorist Stina Persson to design a special, isothermic, 1-bottle case in which to carry this wine, which will keep it cold for 2 hours. There's one shipped with every bottle!
"Very intense and complex on the nose, this is a full-bodied, round, rich and mouth-filling, but also refined prestige cuvée; it reveals a fascinating purity, precision and freshness. The finish is long and complex, and shows a spicy minerality. There are coffee beans, bread and toast aromas in the aftertaste. This comes highly recommended." – The Wine Advocate
The critical consensus on this gorgeous sparkling wine is unanimous; why not get a case to enjoy this holiday season?
The world-renowned Champagne house Veuve Clicquot was founded in 1772 by the son of a well-to-do French banking family. Ironically though, it was not Philippe, nor his son François whom would make theirs a household name, but François' widow [Veuve] Barbe Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin. At the tender young age of 27 (in 1805) she became one of the first business women in modern times. She would prove to be a great asset to the world of winemaking; marketing and selling wines as far as Russia, inventing the first riddling table to make her wines crystal clear and setting the tone of innovation at the house of Clicquot that prevails today. Honoring their motto, "Only one quality, the finest" they've employed a short lineage of merely 10 Cellar Masters through the ages in their quest to maintain the utmost quality and a style that is uniquely Clicquot.
