Calling this Tequila rare is an understatement. Not only is it aged for 5 years in ex-sherry casks, but it is bottled in hand-crafted ceramic decanters that take over two weeks to create. Each package is adorned with a sterling silver agave medallion, a 24k gold label and pure platinum art. An intense nose of cherry, oak and hints of caramel with silky smooth vanilla on the palate finishes with sweet oak that doesn’t quit. Fewer than 100 bottles produced each year. Clase Azul Tequilas are produced exclusively in Mexico in a local bottling facility using indigenous ingredients and materials. Inspired by traditional Mexican family values, they chose to produce all of our products in a small village that continues to thrive. Each agave is hand selected in the highlands of Jalisco, which is considered the most ideal location to cultivate the succulent plant. Their agaves are strictly organic, and they choose to harvest them when they have reached prime maturation. Once the agave is harvested, they slow cook the hearts known as "piñas". During this process, piñas are steamed in brick ovens so their natural sugars come out. Additionally, the heat in the oven brings out the natural moisture in the piñas which is intentionally evaporated so they are able to cultivate the most desirable juices necessary for the next step. Once the most delicious flavors have come out in the piñas, they are crushed to extract the most exotic flavors which are then fermented using our proprietary yeast. The unique distillation process for Clase Azul is highly respected because we choose to disregard anything less than extremely desirable liquid. Every ounce of tequila produced comes from special attention to quality and details only a hands-on distiller can nurture. Each bottle of Clase Azul is a work of art. Hand sculpted and individually painted, no one bottle is exactly alike. Their products are 100% authentic from the tequila to the unique, handmade bottles. In a small town, over one hundred Mexican artisans spend their days handcrafting each bottle, one at a time.
